It was fun finding different book covers and drawing them into the scene. And I liked the idea of keeping the mom and dad more universal by showing their legs only. It's sort of like Miss Bellum in The Powerpuff Girls, or any adults in Peanuts -- your imagination fills in a more powerful image of who this poor kid's hopelessly square parents are than I could draw.
I was still warming up my art technique here, but it was definitely coming along. There are some nice lines on this piece. |
